Grant Wood’s most famous painting, “American Gothic,” is fun to puzzle over, but it’s even more fun when people make parodies, or funny versions, of it! We’ll read a book with lots of fun parodies of famous artists’ works, and then make our own silly spoofs.     Introduce your preschooler to legendary artist Grant Wood the fun (and messy) way! Each Zoom class starts with a story and ends with imagination & creation! Visit www.crma.org for a list of materials you'll need if you'd like to create along with us!   Join Zoom Meetinghttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/5695519009?pwd=... Continue Reading

Grant Wood’s most famous artwork is “American Gothic,” named for the pointy window behind the farmer and lady in the painting. But did you know Grant also created windows? See some of his stained glass work and then make a gothic-style “window” you can hang in your home!     Introduce your preschooler to legendary artist Grant Wood the fun (and messy) way! Each Zoom class starts with a story and ends with imagination & creation! Visit www.crma.org for a list of materials you'll need if you'd like to create along with us!

Grant painted many landscapes of his home—Iowa. And he used a little trick to make these landscapes extra-interesting. In this class, we’ll look at some examples in Grant’s artwork, and then make a 3D version of our own.     Introduce your preschooler to legendary artist Grant Wood the fun (and messy) way! Each Zoom class starts with a story and ends with imagination & creation! Visit www.crma.org for a list of materials you'll need if you'd like to create along with us!

Celebrate Earth Day the Grant Wood way—by upcycling found objects into art! Grant used whatever little items he found in the alley behind his home to create his “Lilies of the Alley” sculptures, so see what you can find around the house that might make an interesting “flower” for your own masterpiece.    Introduce your preschooler to legendary artist Grant Wood the fun (and messy) way!
