Spooky book lovers of all ages are invited to the Lowe Park Amphitheater for some exciting, creepy stories! Staff will have stories for youth, teens, and adults; once you arrive we will split into groups for a howling good time!

Join us for our final Uptown Artway Storytime on Wednesday from 10:00-10:30am. For our last Artway Storytime we will be meeting in Uptown Snug! Children of all ages and abilities are welcome at this storytime that will feature engaging stories, songs, and fingerplays.   Face coverings are required.

Join us for our final Music & Movement Outdoor Edition at Lowe Park Amphitheater Thursdays 10:00-10:30 am   Need to get some wiggles out? Join us for Music & Movement Outdoor Edition! Geared toward children 18 months to 6 years old, this program will get little ones singing, moving, and grooving.    Masks are requested, social distancing is required. Attendees are encouraged to bring towels to help designate family spaces. In the event of inclement weather, Music & Movement will be canceled. Now, let’s have fun!   Stay tuned for information about upcoming winter storytimes!

The All Iowa Reads portion of the program will begin at 10:40 a.m. Host Charity Nebbe will be joined by Jillian Rutledge, Public Services Manager at the Waterloo Public Library and All Iowa Reads selection committee member; and Angie Manfredi, Youth Services Consultant at the State Library of Iowa and chair of the Kids and Teen selection committees, to reveal the new titles and authors for 2021. Grab a cardboard box—any size will do—and whatever else might be lying around the house! Paint it, cut it, glue stuff to it… Turn a boring box into something completely new! We’ll check out Stan Widerspan’s super-realistic painting of cardboard boxes, read a story about the things a cardboard box could possibly become, and then set your imagination loose to come up with something awesome! Each child could work on a separate box, or several could work collectively on the same box.
