Children
Join us for this new, ongoing program! Geared toward ages 2-5, all are welcome. These programs will include elements of music, movement and story. On a given day, we may play some parachute games, use stretchy bands, explore noise & music props or take a look at some flannel board stories.  Accomodations made for those with sensory issues: we'll have noise-canceling headphones, picture schedules and fidgets available.

Our Morning Genealogy Junkies group provides an opportunity for anyone interested in genealogy to get together with peers to learn and to share research tips and tricks. The group meets on Thursday morning each week. Bring a laptop or tablet computer, or check out one of the library's laptops from the Information Desk. Explore our online resources such as Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest, Fold3, and our historical newspapers. Everyone is welcome! Join us for a fun and social story time geared especially for children ages 0-18 months. We'll read a story and then do bounces and songs to get your baby's mind and body working. We'll then allow everyone to wind down and socialize while playing with fun early literacy toys. This program usually runs about 15-30 minutes.

Council meets in work sesson the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 4:00 in Council Chambers at City Hall. Regular session meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. on the Thursday following each work session. The meeting schedule may change if the scheduled meeting falls on a holiday. Visit the City's website for additional information about the City Council.

The Civilian Conservation Corps was a federal works program created in 1933 by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the heart of The Great Depression. During its nine year run, 49,000 thousand young men served in Iowa camps.   Jamerson's presentation includes telling stories, singing original songs and reading excerpts from his novel.  He has performed at dozens of CCC reunions around the country and at CCC-built national and state parks.
