The Ezekiel Option by Joel C. Rosenberg: Why the Audio was Better than the Print Book

Just finished listening to the audio book version of  Joel C. Rosenberg's The Ezekiel Option  I loved it!

I started reading the print version last Fall and was enjoying the story, but found the rapidly changing "voices" a little hard to follow. Instead of giving up on the book, I discovered the CD book this spring and was instantly impressed.

Narrator Patrick Lawlor brings the book to life with stupendous voice characterizations, and on-the-mark accents and dialects which really help in identifying who the speakers are  (and there are quite a few). Lawlor's performance completely "fixed" the confusion I experienced reading the print version.

As to the story (without giving anything away), it's a political grabber and apocalyptic thrill-ride, with just enough real Middle East history included to lend credibility. If your geography of the area isn't on par you just might want to Google up a few maps  (current and ancient) to keep track of who all the players are.

Grab a good pair of ear-buds and enjoy!! If you like this novel, author Joel C. Rosenberg has even more political thrillers available through the Metro Library Network.
