Dolly Parton's Imagination Library comes to MPL

The Friends of the Marion Public Library are pleased to announce that the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program is coming to Marion. This partnership promotes early reading habits and encourages a lifelong appreciation for literacy and learning. “The Friends of the Marion Public Library is beyond excited to bring this program to Marion residents. Increasing access to books in the home and igniting a lifelong love and appreciation for literacy can only have a positive impact on reading proficiency for Marion children”, commented Bob Hoyt (President of the Friends of the Marion Public Library).

Children ages 0-5 who live in the 52302-zip code are eligible to register for the program. Once registered, children will receive one book by mail each month until they age out of the program. This program is supported by the Friends of the Marion Public Library, The Alliant Energy Foundation, The Marion Independent School Foundation & Alumni Association, & The John A. & Elise M. Nelson Fund of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.

Program registration cards are available at Marion Public Library. Those interested in learning more about the Dolly Parton Imagination Library should contact Blaine Phillips at bphillips@marionpubliclibrary.org
