May is Get Caught Reading Month!

All month long, we’re celebrating the joy of reading—any book, any format, any genre. Whether you’re into graphic novels, biographies, poetry, or breezy fiction, there’s something for everyone. Reading is for all ages, and it’s always the right time to get lost in a good book. Here are members of library staff, our board, and supporters we caught reading.

I am reading from my favorite series, The Baby-sitters Club. I enjoy reading outdoors in the sunshine or while sitting on the couch with my dog, Diesel. -Sydney, Programming
I am reading Revenge of the Librarians by Tom Gauld. It's a graphic novel that humorously explores libraries and the librarians that work in them. And, of course, I'm reading this in my favorite place away from home. -Bill, Administrative
My favorite place to read is my front porch and I like to use a random number generator to help me narrow down my options at the library. Exit West was one of the results of my little game. -Chelsea, Collection Development
Listening to audiobooks while I'm working on different things is my favorite way to read! -Kimberly, Administrative
Always looking for the next place to explore- the library is a great starting point. - Sally, Foundation Board
This is the book I am currently reading, trying to brush up on how people evaluate good and bad in the world these days. -Ross, Board of Trustees
City Councilmember Gage Miskimen was caught reading Falling for Gage by Mia Sheridan. Set in a small town, the story follows Gage Buchanan—a handsome, successful guy who can’t quite figure out why he’s still single. (Maybe he hasn’t found the right person… or maybe he’s not as perfect as everyone thinks.) Along the way, unexpected romance and long-buried family secrets unfold. Councilmember Miskimen enjoys reading outdoors—and, apparently, books where the main character shares his name.
I am reading a short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle entitled "The Doings of Raffles Haw.” I’m a big Doyle fan having read many Sherlock Holmes stories when I was a boy. I read at home every day, particularly before bedtime. -Bob, Board of Trustees

One of my favorite places to read is in my beach room. It has a comfy chair and ottoman as well as a special blanket made by dear friends. I am currently enjoying books by author Joe Sipple. -Melissa, Board of Trustees
