MakerSpace

Bring Your Ideas to Life

Located on the second level of the library, our MakerSpace is the creative corner of our community. From painting and other traditional crafts to cutting-edge printing and engraving, we offer a variety of tools for patrons of all ages to create, imagine, and flourish.

MAKERSPACE EQUIPMENT

3D Printing

Our MakerSpace maintains two 3D printers: a LulzBot TAZ pro filament printer, and a Formlabs resin printer. Each printer uses a .stl file format for 3D models. The filament printer uses PLA filament, and the resin printer uses grey resin. The cost to print a model is $0.10 per gram of filament and a $2 base cost + $0.25 per milliliter of resin.

Crafting Equipment

Arts and crafts just got easier thanks to our MakerSpace. The space includes Singer sewing machines, a Cricut Maker 3, a Cricut EasyPress 2 heat press, a Husqvarna embroidery machine, a button maker, a light-up tracing screen, die cutters, irons and ironing boards, heat guns, hot glue guns, easels, and stamps.

For materials, the MakerSpace includes cardstock, mini canvases, yarn, coasters, magnets, and coffee mugs, among other items. Various materials have a cost associated with them, please see the pricing sheet above for complete information!

Sublimation Printing

Our Epson SureColor F570 Sublimation Printer can print your personal designs and photos using any image file format, such as .JPG, .PNG, and .PDF on items you can purchase from the library, such as keychains, coffee mugs, drink tumblers, shot glasses, puzzles, pet tags, tote bags, coasters, and magnets! Patrons may bring in their personal sublimation blanks to be approved by staff (these will be subject to a printing fee). Sublimation blanks should be white or light-colored only.

Laser Cutting

The GlowForge Pro laser cutter and engraver cuts, marks, and engraves a variety of materials including wood, acrylic, and leather. The cutter uses the .svg file format and has a $0.10 charge per minute of cutting or engraving.

Audio & Video Studios

Our Recording Studio and Green Screen Room are perfect for channeling your inner podcast host, YouTuber, DJ, musician, and more. The Recording Studio is equipped with a Rode ProCaster Sound Board and Adobe Audition. The Green Screen Room has a camera available for patron use, along with Adobe Illustrator, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro. Headphones are provided, and patrons should bring their own USB drives to save files.

The Recording Studio can be reserved online, and patrons who use the recording studio must be 18 years of age or older. The Green Screen Room is coming soon – stay tuned for updates on hours and availability!

Longarm Quilting Machine

Our longarm quilting machine provides patrons with all of the tools to support quilters with a variety of projects. Projects must be 90 inches or less due to the limitations of the machine. The quilting machine is available for use through training and open hour appointments on our Events Calendar. Open hour appointments can only be used by patrons who have completed training and certification.

The library has quilting machine supplies available for purchase. All materials used on the quilting machine must be pre-approved before usage. Pricing lists for quilting machine supplies can be found above under “View Price Lists.”
