MPL To Host Adult Book Fair on Sept. 27
Book fairs are a core memory and highlight for elementary and middle school-aged students. Now, the Marion Public Library (MPL) is bringing the excitement and magic of these book fairs back for adults to enjoy, too!
The library will host its first ever Adult Book Fair on Friday, Sept. 27 from 5 – 8 p.m. in their Community Room. This event is for individuals 21 years and older, as alcohol will be served. Local Marion vendors, including bookstores, dessert shops, and other specialty businesses, will have items available for purchase during the book fair. A portion of all proceeds will go back to supporting library programs and initiatives.
Children & Family Services Library Assistant Becca Draus jumped at the opportunity to plan this event when a coworker brought up the idea, as she immediately remembered the fond memories of the fairs she attended as a child. Partnering with other local businesses and organizations, Draus said, is helping this event come to life.
“We are so excited for this opportunity. . . to create a fun experience [for adults] that brings a sense of nostalgia to attendees,” Draus added.
Registration for this event is encouraged but not required. For more details and to register, click here.
