The Marion Public Library (MPL) will host a ribbon cutting for its new bookmobile on Friday, Dec. 6. It will take place in front of the library’s north entrance on 6th Avenue in Uptown Marion.
Festivities will begin at 3 p.m. with a brief program and ribbon cutting ceremony. The bookmobile will remain at the library during Christmas in the Park & Peppermint Walk, hosted by the Marion Chamber of Commerce. Patrons will be able to tour the vehicle, as well as pick up informational handouts and giveaways from 4 – 8 p.m.
“[The bookmobile] is a highly-anticipated extension of library services that will continue to increase access in Marion,” Library Director Bill Carroll said. “We are excited for its launch and look forward to the joy it will bring our community.”
