Library Services

Seed Library

The seed library is open seasonally for all patrons. The seed library can be found near the Information Desk on the main level of the library.

Free Wireless Internet Access

The Marion Library provides free Wi-Fi at our location. Just bring in your own laptop, or check out one of ours, and log in from anywhere in the building. The Wi-Fi is unsecured, so no password is necessary. A screen will appear asking you to accept the library’s Internet Policy before connecting.

Public Internet Stations

We provide 20 public Internet computers. Each patron is allowed 90 minutes of use time. In the instance no patrons are waiting to use computers, staff may allow you to remain on the current computer for additional time. You need a library card and PIN number to use Internet stations within the library, or we have guest passes available upon request. View the Internet Policy.

Color and B/W Printing

The library provides a printer/copy machine for printing from our public Internet computers. In addition to black & white and color printing and copying, this machine also scans to your USB drive/memory stick or to email. Cost for this service is:

$0.10 for 8-1/2″x11″ black & white
$0.50 for 8-1/2″x11″ color
No charge for scanning.

Photocopies

The library has a public self-serve coin-operated copy machine immediately inside the front door from the lobby. Patrons can copy documents in either black & white or color at the following rates:

$0.10 for 8-1/2″x11″ black & white
$0.20 for 8-1/2″x14″ black & white
$0.20 for 11″x17″ black & white
$0.50 for 8-1/2″x11″ color
$1.00 for 8-1/2″x14″ color
$1.00 for 11″x17″ color

This machine will also scan documents onto your USB drive/memory stick.  There is no cost to scan.

Faxing

The library provides a self-service fax machine on our main level. You may use your debit or credit cards, or purchase pre-paid fax cards from the Information Desk. Faxes cost $1.75 for the first page, and $1.00 for subsequent pages. The fax machine is independently owned, so the library cannot provide refunds or technical assistance; should you need help, please call the 1-800 number on the unit.

Tax Form Information

Because the IRS and the Iowa Department of Revenue encourage electronic filing and no longer send us forms, the library does not have tax forms on-hand. We are still able to help you find and print the forms you need from the IRS and Iowa Department of Revenue websites for $0.10/page.

You may be eligible to do your taxes online for free using one of the Free File IRS partner offers: https://apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile/
