International Day of Happiness Recap

The month of March brought us the International Day of Happiness on March 20th. We decided to create a display of happy books, and asked our patrons “what makes you happy?”

The response was overwhelming! It’s a good reminder that the simplest things bring us joy and happiness often when times are tough and uncertain. Cultivate your sense of joy and happiness every day with gratitude for all things, big and small, that make you smile.

Some of the responses we received from patrons of all ages include:

“Grandchildren”“My puppy and coffee” “Drawing” “Nature” “Gymnastics”

“A proper cup of tea!” “Dance parties with my son” “Playing with friends” “Sandhill cranes” “The trampoline park” “Rubix cubes” “Pickles!” “Camping with my family”

“Reading! Helping others!” “The mountains” “Legos” “Cats and dogs” “Reading a big floppy book” “The Marion Library! Thanks for making a happy place” (aw, shucks!)

“My mom and dad” “Playing with my friends” “My cat” “Coffee and books”

Thank you to our community for spreading happiness!
